Registering your venue

Before registering

In order to give acts and audiences accurate information Leicester Comedy Festival and The UK Kids' Comedy Festival asks venues to register if they want host and promote shows in the festival.  Registered venues will be included in our brochure on on our website. There is no fee for registering your venue.

Before registering your venue we ask you to consider the following:

  • Make sure you have an appropriate space where the show will not be disturbed - live comedy doesn't work if there is noise interference from other things.

  • Work out what tech and equipment you have available to you, what you would need to hire and who will pay for the hire of the equipment.

  • Be clear about how many audience you can seat and how you will seat them.

  • Discuss and confirm the deal and responsibilities between you and your promoter or your acts. We strongly encourage you to have this arrangement in writing to help keep you on the same page.

  • Think about the type of audience you attract normally and who might visit your venue to see a comedy show

  • There are other ways to be involved other than a traditional stand-up show: quiz, game show, exhibition, workshop, film... Be imaginative!

Registering your venue

If, after an initial call with the team, you would like to take part in the festival then we will register you on our festival management system, Eventotron. To do that we will need your capacity and a contact email address.

Once we have done that you will receive an email to the email address provided asking you to complete you venue registration.

Please complete as much information as possible. In particular we ask that you provide detailed access information as it is shared with audiences and helps with their expectations about attending the venue.

We also ask that you provide a clear photo of either the space where the comedy show will happen or the entrance to the venue. This is also displayed on the website.
